Before I Wake - Rachel Vincent

tl;dr - Loved this story!! This series just gets better as it goes on!

Description So Kaylee died, which seriously sucked, and Todd refused to reap her soul. But then she was brought back as a sort-of reaper, which means she now has the super awesome perks of not having to sleep ever, and being able to basically teleport. So thats cool. But being un-dead isn't all its cracked up to be, especially since Kaylee has decided to go on with her life pretending she never died. If it weren't for Todd, her new boyfriend, she'd probably be lost and depressed with this new way of existing. Her new job as an undead  thing is to reclaim stolen souls from the hellions who are trying to get away with them. Which of course, brings her back in contact with Avari. She has to figure out how to keep her friends and family safe, as well as exist in her new state.

This series just gets better and better. I loved the previous book, and was a little worried this one might falter following it. But it most definitely did not disappoint!

So since I've read like 6 books since this one, I am a little fuzzy on the details. Which means that unfortunately this won't be the best review I've written. I shall do what I can, and I apologize in advance for a crap review.

Lets see. Can I just fangirl for a moment. I absolutely LOVE the relationship between Todd and Kaylee. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I seriously just adore them together. I really do. I think they're a great match, and I think its great that Todd can kind of teach her the ropes to the whole undead-life thing. We get to meet a necromancer in this book, and I like that its different than what you'd expect. He doesn't like, bring people back from the dead - but he can sense newly dead people or the undead - like Todd and Kaylee. And I think there was a bit more he could do, but I can't remember what at the moment.

I really quite enjoyed where the story went at this point. I mean, it could've gone anywhere, what with Kaylee's death and all. But I am so glad it went the direction it did, and I thought it was really well done. I loved it. The ending - so sad. But SO good.
