Peter Pan - J.M. Barrie

tl;dr I liked this story. I mean definitely a different take than the Disney movie I love oh so much, but it was still a good story.

Description Peter lives in the imagination of children everywhere, but he's not just part of your imagination. One night when the Darling parents go out for a party and leave the nurse-maid dog Nana outside, Peter comes in and whisks Wendy, John, and Michael off to Neverland. But Peter is not like the boy you are used to from the Disney movies…

So I love the Disney Peter Pan movies. Tinker Bell and Peter are my favorites. I love them so much. But they were not the same in this book. Being a children's book, it of course is full of lessons. How never growing up can be a bad thing what with how selfish Peter can be, how he doesn't really understand right from wrong, and how the only person he cares for is himself. It shows how hard it is to forge a lasting relationship with someone like that. In Tinker Bell it shows the dangers of allowing your emotions to rule you.

It was a good story, but it did make me sad that Peter was so different from my beloved Disney movies. Tink and Wendy were pretty much the same, though. A good story though, and one I would definitely read to my nieces/nephews.
