tl;dr - |✭✭✭✭✭| I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was fun listening to her life stories, and the random guest stars she had come read portions for the book.
[[MORE]]Description - Amy Poehler recounts portions of her life and time as an actor, peppering in bits of humor and excerpts from friends and celebrities.
This was quite fun to listen to. I adore Amy on Parks and Recreation and from SNL, so it was really enjoyable for me to listen to her tell her story. I know I've mentioned it before in my Bossypants review, but I really do enjoy hearing people tell their life stories.
There were parts of this audiobook that had me cracking up, and I did love the random excerpts of her friends and celebrities reading things - like Sir Patrick Stewart reading haikus.
Being an actor, books like this, Bossypants, and Paddle Your Own Canoe by Nick Offerman are fun to listen to/read because I get to see what their paths were like in building up their acting career. Its different for everyone, but its both interesting and fun to see how they made their way to their successful shows/movies. Not to mention the little tidbits of advice they dole out, hurray!
So yes. Give this one a go if you're into biographies, want to start checking out nonfiction, or want an enjoyable audiobook. Warning, once you've finished, you will feel like you're best friends with Amy Poehler.
